Eureka Math

Math Facts

This week we have begun our concentrated math work. Part of our learning requires students to complete Sprints, which are 1-minute, timed tests of their math-fact knowledge. Each test has 44 questions. Although some students are able to accurately complete most questions in the minute, most students manage to correctly answer twenty or fewer questions.

It is an expectation that all students work to improve their math-fact knowledge. Students who already know their addition, subtract, multiplication, and division facts, achieve better overall in math and have an easier time with new concepts. The best way to get better at math-facts is to practice, practice, practice!

Fortunately, there are easy ways to practice at home. IXL offers tasks that push math facts. In addition, you can do all of the Sprints at home. Here's how you access an official Eureka sprint (and many other Eureka Math Resources) to print up at home:

Good luck and happy practicing!
